Lionel Messi Wins Ballon D’Or For Second Time

The Argentinian boy wonder Lionel Messi has won the FIFA Ballon D’Or award of best player of the year 2010 surpassing his club mates Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta.
Last year Messi also won the Player of the Year and Ballon D’Or prize turning the Argentinian into one of the select few to win these awards 2 times in a row. The 3 candidates on winning Ballon D’Or were: Xavi Hernandez and Andres Iniesta both of Barcelona.
Iniesta got a sum of 17% while the puppet master Xavi received 16% and the boy wonder surpassed them both winning a total of 22%votes.
Despite having a lower than average performance with his national club Argentina in the World Cup of 2010 Messi still managed to stand out after his amazing club form and still being able to shine in the matches that really matter. Against Real Madrid Messi set up 2 goals to his teammates in a match that ended 5-0 Barcelona destroying Jose Mourinho and his team.
‘The Flea’ was also the top goal scorer in the Champions League although Barcelona did not reach the finals still the performance of the Argentinian could not be denied to be World Class. In La Liga he continues to be unstoppable after winning La Liga Player of the Year for the second time in a row after scoring 34 goals in 35 matches.
With only 23 years of age Lionel Messi has taken the football world by storm and from what it seems he has no signs of stopping. Some compare him to be even better than Maradona i honestly wouldn’t go so far but he still has a long way to go.

I’ve been getting sick on hearing all these bull $hit coming from the Spanish media and their fans about MESSI winning this award. Clearly he deserves this more than anyone simply because he was outstanding all year. I don’t think its right to just pick someone on the virtue because he had a good one month in South Africa.
