CRAVEN COTTAGE, London – Fulham did put up a more intensified game against Blackburn although both teams displayed unlevelled enthusiasm and expertise. However, the better team always wins at the end of the match.
As early as the 9th minute, referee Clattenburg awarded Dickson Etuhu with a yellow card. The game was liquid with Fulham always initiating the attacks and Blackburn deflecting them. When the Rovers are in possession of the ball, Fulham seemed to lose control and that they seem to have a puzzled look whenever Blackburn attacks. Perhaps the efforts were not just enough for Blackburn to finish off their attacks with a goal earlier in the first half.
Dickson Etuhu has given a perfect assist to Damien Duff who fired and score the opener to the dismay of the Blackburn. However, the opener was equalized just before the first half ended. It was in the 45+1 that Grant Hanley fired his specialty and scored.
Blackburn seemed to have dominated in the first five minutes of the second half. However, it was still Damien Duff who was given a blessing in the 59th scoring his second goal for the match and second for Fulham.
David Hoilett levelled the lead in the 65th minute assuring their fans everything is under control. For Blackburn, a win at the end of the match is still possible with attacks from Fulham easily deflected however a penalty shot was awarded Bobby Zamora in the 87th minute. Zamora was a good penalty striker and he did it. With three minutes left in the game, Blackburn is still hopeful for perfect attack to level the lead but to no avail.
Zamora’s goal was the finisher and a perfect one; it came in a perfect time in a perfect situation.
