Arsenal Vs Sunderland 2-1- Premier League Highlights- Arsenal Back On Track

Published on October 16, 2011 by   ·   No Comments

Arsenal are slowly getting in the form they desire so much as the loss of both Fabregas and Nasri are still affecting them with still no clear replacements for both of those World Class players they allowed to leave, but nonetheless Robin Van Persie took charge and was the clear leader for this match.

Within 27 seconds and already Van Persie placed his team ahead on the scoreboard when Gervinho was given maybe just too much space as he gave it to the midfielder Tomas Rosicky who slipped it to a unmarked Van Persie and the Dutch forward took the very surprising and early lead.

‘The Gunners’ were clearly dominating the pitch with possession and control of the ball but they were just not lucky on scoring again while Sunderland on the other hand did manage to find the equalizer through a free kick which was launched by the former player of Arsenal Sebastian Larsson on the 31rst minute.

The restart of the game and it was becoming a side to side match with both teams working hard to get more than just a draw. Arshavin was placed and he had a number of shots but all of them just went wide away from the post of Simon Mignolet.

The remaining minutes and Sunderland was struggling a lot trying to hold off the attacks of Arsenal and they broke down when Van Persie scored his 2nd and last goal of the game through a superb free kick.

It finally ended 2-1 with Arsenal just barely winning the game and jumping to 10th place with 10 points while Sunderland drop to 17th spot and edging closer to the relegation zone.
