Liverpool was held to a goalless draw in their home turn Anfield as they faced a Swansea squad that caused them maybe just too much trouble for them to contain. Swansea took the initial danger chances with Charlie Adam delivering a cross over to Stewart Downing and later giving it to Andy Carroll who failed to take the best of it with a missed shot.
Moments later and it was the hosts turn to take their shots against the opposition’s own half and most noticeable with Luis Suarez who came close on scoring but did just went wide away from the crossbar of Michel Vorm.
When the 2nd half initiated Kenny Dalglish decided to replace Jordan Henderson with Dirk Kuyt nonetheless this substitution had little impact on the game itself.
With just some few minutes remaining on the game Mark Gower just barely got his header above the crossbar and later Dirk Kuyt believed he had scored but moments later the linesman called him for offside and so the goal was not allowed.
All in all it ended in a draw with both sides unable to get a single goal and positioning Liverpool in the 6th spot with 19 points while Swansea are behind them with 13 points.
