Fulham Vs Chelsea 1-1- Premier League Highlights And Result- Late Dempsey Header Draws The Game
Chelsea traveled to Craven Cottage to only just pick up a draw against Fulham following Frank Lampard’s penalty in the 1rst half and only later conceding when Clint Dempsey netted with a header.
This draw leaves Di Matteo’s squad at the same exact spot they were before the start of this match at the 6th place with 57 points while Fulham are at the mid section of the Premier League standings with 43 points.
A pitch soaked in water due to the rain was not allowing the sides to play at their most desirable conditions and causing them to struggle on creating any real chances on scoring for either clubs. Perpetually the game was taken under the control of Chelsea but they were limited to only doing shots that never really caused any trouble on Fulham’s goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer.
Just right before the 1rst half came to an end and Salomon Kalou was approaching the penalty box and fell down after Stephen Kelly clinched his legs onto the Ivorian striker. The veteran midfielder Frank Lampard and made no mistake in scoring the penalty.
At this point Fulham was just defending in their own half unable to move into the opposition’s side of the pitch. However as the 2nd half started, Chelsea looked like a different squad playing rather slow and this allowed the hosts to take control of the game.
A Chelsea lacking any creative ideas and looking very different than the one at the start of the game which ultimately gave away Dempsey to score the equalizer when he was left unmarked and alone in the area of Chelsea when a corner was launched in and he scored with a header.
