Barcelona suffered a huge blow in their journey on getting their La Liga title with a tight 2-1 defeat over their city rivals Real Madrid.
With La Liga coming to an end and only 4 games remaining this match was monumental for both sides and it was Madrid who got all 3 points from this encounter. The player compared to the likes of Maradona and Pele was almost a ghost this evening while C.Ronaldo was all over the place until he scored the important 2nd goal that ultimately gave his side the victory.
Madrid was first to test their luck with a header that forced Valdes on making a superb save and from there on out it was almost all Barcelona as they implanted their traditional possession and tiki-taka style of play.
The 20 years old Tello impressed everyone in Camp Nou when he evaded a number of tackles down his left flank and later striked it into Madrid’s goalpost with Iker Casillas not allowing the youngster to score.
Barcelona has always satisfied their fans with huge possession on the ball but much like they played against Chelsea, they wasted almost all of their chances and their defensive side in instances just can’t keep up with the opposition.
Carles Puyol suffered against the fast pace of C.Ronaldo and Mascherano playing as a defender was playing just as bad. The first goal of the encounter arrived in a corner launched in by Madrid and later met by Pepe as he headed it into the goalpost of Madrid and Valdes tried to reach for the ball but it just slipped away from him until Carles Puyol seemed to be clearing it away from danger but before the captain could reach the ball Khedira slipped it between his legs and into the side of the net.
For the next goal to arrive both sides would have to wait until the 70th minute when the substitute Alexis Sanchez made the most of a scramble inside the box of Madrid. It started off with Tello taking a shot against Casillas and a rebound allowed the Chilean youngster to slip it past the Spanish goalkeeper.
Real Madrid responded 3 minutes later when Mesut Ozil slipped a perfect deep pass over to the rushing C.Ronaldo and the Portuguese created just enough space to dip it into the net.
The result was the same at the last minute of the game with Barcelona just continuing to miss all of their attempts and now Madrid 7 points clear at the top of La Liga with only 4 games remaining.

After three years Real Madrid finally got the 32nd title, while Barcelona has won 21. Finally the “Big two” (Barcelona and Real Madrid) still dominates la liga with 53 titles, all other clubs won only 28 and last time that la liga hadnt been won by another club Barcelona or Real Madrid was in 2004 by Valencia !
