Barcelona Vs Chelsea Match Preview – Champions League Prediction- The 2nd Leg Is A Few Hours Away!

Published on April 24, 2012 by   ·   No Comments

The 2nd leg of the Semifinals between Barcelona and Chelsea is just a few hours away and Chelsea will be looking to retain their 1 goal lead while Barcelona will neeed to score atleast 1 goal for them to advance into the Finals of this tournament.

Probable Starting XI

BARCELONA

Valdes
Alves, Puyol, Pique, Adriano
Xavi, Busquets, Iniesta
Sanchez, Messi, Pedro

Pique is a plausiable addition into Guardiola’s main squad while their captain Carles Puyol is expected to be at the center of their defence however the veteran defender is walking on a tightrope if he receives 1 more yellow card then he will not be able to play in the following match.

 CHELSEA

Cech
Ivanovic, Cahill, Terry, Cole
Mikel, Meireles
Ramires, Lampard, Mata
Drogba

Roberto Di Matteo is going to have to juggle between Drogba and Torres to play for this match. The Ivorian striker is suffering from a knee injury which has forced him to stay on the bench in the match against Arsenal and so this leaves a possible addition of the Spanish forward Torres if Drogba cannot play.

 Match Prediction

Absolutely no one expected Chelsea to pick up a advantage in Stamford Bridge and even more taking into consideration that Chelsea only had 1 shot on goal and that only attempt rewarded them with the only goal of the entire game. Now they battle in Camp Nou with Barcelona in obligation to come back and score 1 goal to get a draw.

Roberto Di Matteo in a press conference said that he will attack and not only defend despite having the upper hand, so expect this match to have quite a few goals being score from both sides. Barcelona should still be able to advance into the semifinals.

Chelsea 1 Barcelona 3
