The 36 years old center back of Ac.Milan, Alessandro Nesta has announced his departure from Ac.Milan when this season comes to an end. After 10 years with Ac.Milan his Serie A adventure is over but he does have some good memories to take with him as he achieves Champions League glory on 2 occasions and considered to be one of the best defenders in the history of the club.
“Italian and European football are too fast for me now,” Nesta told a press conference. “If I do not feel important, I prefer to stay at home.
“I have won so many things, but out of respect for the club and my teammates I have decided to try a different experience at a club in which I can do something good.”
“The first Champions League that I won is the best memory I have from this club,” he noted. “I leave Milan disappointed because we hoped to win a league that was within our reach. I do not know what the future will hold for Milan because there is a group of players who will leave the club in the summer.”
He also went on to talk about his future but remains uncertain on where he will go with MLS being a good option.
Ac.Milan will also be letting go: Seedorf, Inzaghi and Van Bommel as they are trying to transform their current squad into a younger one. Paolo Maldini retired from the game some seasons back ago and now Nesta is almost saying his goodbye, both World-Class defenders that Milan will have a hard time filling in the spots for them.
Goodbye to Alessandro Nesta a Ac.Milan Legend and one of the greatest defenders the world will ever see.
