Italy Vs Croatia 1-1- Euro 2012 Highlights And Result – Andrea Pirlo’s Free Kick Cancelled By Mandkuzic

Andrea Pirlo gave Italy a lead at the ending minutes of the 1rst half through a beautiful free kick but Mandzukic leveled the match following a mistake of Chiellini which allowed the goal scorer to make his mark on the scoreboard.

Italy was the 1rst to launch warning shots against the opposition with their offensive line involving Balotelli and Cassano . The Manchester City player was very active throughout the entire 1rst half with some long range shots but not really troubling the goalkeeper of Croatia Pletikosa.

Jelavic and Mandzukic made a number of combinations trying to surprise Gianluigi Buffon and snatch a goal but the Italian goalkeeper was at the tip of his toes and cleared away from danger all the attempts arriving from the Croatian attackers.

The Azurri were slowly transforming into the main actors of this scenario as they dominated possession and kept on taking shots over to the defensive line of Croatia, it seemed like it was only a matter of time until they finally get what they deserved.

2^nd half came along and Croatia were making their stand trying to get back in the game with Luca Modric slamming the ball just over the crossbar of Buffon. At the 72^nd minute a chipped ball was reaching the defensive back line of Italy with Giorgio Chiellini jumping in his attempt of heading it away from danger but the Juventus defender just couldn’t reach the ball as it was received by Mandzukic who scored his 3^rd goal in this tournament.

With this result both sides earn 1 points which places Croatia at the top of Group C with 4 points while Italy picked up their 2nd point.
