Spain jump to the top spot of Group C following an overwhelming triumph against Ireland that saw Fernando Torres scoring twice as he was trying to make his statement on the number 9 position of Spain while Fabregas and Silva also found the net.
It was a one traffic match from the early stages as Ireland just couldn’t handle the tiki-taka and quick pace of the Spanish players who forced them to defend on their own half for basically the entire game.
Having only 4 minutes passed in the match and already Spain took the lead when Fernando Torres found his way into the penalty box of Ireland and slammed it past Shay Given. The following minutes of this 1rst half was Spain just trying to extend their lead further but they failed on doing so.
The current champions of the world did manage however to score 3 goals in the 2nd half. Starting with David Silva who managed to fool 3 Irish players right infront of their own penalty box as he created space to tuck it behind Shay Given with simple and delicate touch.
Ireland’s sorrow continued on after Fernando Torres found his 2nd goal with a shot into the right hand side of Given’s net and finally Fabregas entered the game as a substitute to score the last for Spain as they won with a comfortable 4-0 score and leaping into the top spot of Group C.
