Portugal slipped into the Semi-Finals of this Euro with C.Ronaldo standing up and silencing all of his critics as he scored the only goal of the entire encounter which means Czech Republic is out of the tournament while Portugal will have to wait until the next stages of the Quarter-Finals are played in the next few days.
Michal Bilek’s squad failed to create any real goal scoring chances other than Vaclav Pilar and his solo runs which ended up being cleared in one way or another by Ferreira Pepe and his comrades. On the other hand, C.Ronaldo was making a number of threatening shots over and over but he would later be denied by Petr Cech who stayed at the tip of his toes during the whole game.
Following a number of rebounds and passes, the ball arrived into the path of C.Ronaldo who was bursting down the right wing along with a defender but the Real Madrid defender managed to create some space and take his shot however it was only met and denied by the post. He continued on creating chances this time when a free kick was granted to him and he smashed it into the opposing post.
Luis Nani was next in line to try his luck at the 58th minute but Petr Cech made a superb save denying the Portuguese winger on scoring.
The deadlock was finally broken at the 79th minute when Joao Moutinho was given just too much space down the right wing and he crossed the ball into the penalty box of Czech Republic with C.Ronaldo heading into the back of the net as he was left completely unmarked.
With this result Portugal become the 1rst Semi-Finalist of this tournament and need to wait for the further matches to be played in order to know their enemy for the upcoming matchday.
