Spain Vs France 2-0 – Euro 2012 Highlights And Result – Xabi Alonso Securing Semi Finals Spot For Spain

Spain is into the Semi-Finals of the Euro with a comfortable 2-0 victory against France as Xabi Alonso scored both goals for the Spanish side on both periods of the encounter and now they are set to face Portugal on the 27th of June.

The game picked off with France playing a very defensive formation as most of their players were defending on their own half while Spain cruised with the ball for as long as they wanted and only 2 French players playing on the other side of the pitch waiting for a moment to counter attack although it never really happened.

1rst goal arrived at the 19th minute when Jordi Alba bursted down the left wing and crossed it over into the penalty box of France until it was met by the head of Xabi Alonso and the Real Madrid midfielder headed it into the further side of Hugo Lloris.

Vicente Del Bosque’s side continued being the better side throughout the rest of the 1rst half with possession being in their control most of the time and in the few chances that France managed to get the ball it was quickly cleared away from danger by the defensive duo of Pique and Sergio Ramos.

Spain finished the game off at the 91st minute when they were awarded with a penalty and Xabi Alonso striked it with total calmness as it ensured that his side a semifinal spot of the Euro but they still have to wait for the final outcome of Italy vs England.
