Spain Vs Italy – Euro 2012 Match Preview – Spain On The Verge Of Making History

Published on June 30, 2012 by   ·   No Comments

Weeks have gone by with teams getting knocked out until it has finally arrived for the moment where the best teams advanced into the final stages of the tournament and those teams are Spain and Italy.

Italy went through a surprising victory when they defeated Germany and blew everyone’s mind with a superb performance against Joechim Low’s squad. Now they are set to face the current champions of the world Spain.

Probable Starting XI

 Italy

Buffon
Abate, Barzagli, Chiellini, Balzaretti
Marchisio, Pirlo, De Rossi
Montolivo
Balotelli, Cassano

Ignazio Abate was unable to play against Germany due to an injury but he is expected to make his return as he recovered while the usual attacking front of Cassano with Balotelli proved wonders on the Semi-Finals and of course Andrea Pirlo deployed as a defensive midfielder pulling out the strings for his team on the biggest match of this tournament.

Spain
Casillas
Arbeloa, Pique, Ramos, Alba
Xavi, Busquets, Alonso
Silva, Fabregas, Iniesta

Vicente Del Bosque’s only real concern relies on his attacking forces as he has been making changes on most of his fixtures in which Fabregas plays as a ‘’false nine’’ and so far the Barcelona player has been superb so expect him to play in the starting XI or make an appearance on the 2nd half.

Match Prediction

Some experts edge Spain to win while others say Italy will prevail; it’s one of the most unpredictable matches in this tournament with the minor of details making a huge difference in the final outcome of it all.

Juventus vs Barcelona, Italy and Spain respectively as most of the players belong in one of those teams and now they face off with the Italians being ‘’the dark horses’’ of this Euro but they managed to overcome a rough and tough German side but Spain is on a different level, expect them to make history on Sunday evening.

Spain 1 Italy 0
