Spain was crowned champions of the Euro 2012 with a breathtaking performance as they defeated Italy and the final scoreboard displaying 4-0. Jordi Alba and Silva finding the net at the 1rst half and Tores along with Juan Mata finishing everything off at the last few minutes of the encounter.

15 minutes into the game and Vicente Del Bosque’s squad managed to find the back of Buffon’s net when Xavi Hernandez slipped a deep pass over to the right wing where Fabregas was waiting and the former Arsenal player crossed it over to David Silva and the Manchester City winger headed it into the net of Buffon.

Italy tried to get back into the game with some long passes in search of their goal scorer Mario Balotelli but the Italian forward was having a hard time going against the defensive back line of Spain. Pique and Ramos being the center backs as they blocked and cleared away all the shots coming in their way while Alba doing his job but also going offensively more than usual.

With 4 minutes remaining on the 1rst half, Spain doubled their lead when Xavi Hernandez delivered a slick and quick pass to Jordi Alba and the recent signing of Barcelona surprised the Italian as he managed to get the ball under his control and put it past the likes of Gianluigi Buffon.

It went from bad to worse for the Italians when Chiellini had to be sent of the pitch due to injury and if it wasn’t enough, they were forced to play with 10 men when Thiago Motta was out of the game and no more substitutions were allowed for Prandelli who already used up all of his chances.

Torres and Juan Mata both came on as substitutions for the remaining 10 minutes of the encounter and they managed to find their target as they clinched their 3rd Euro Cup.
