Olympic Games 2012 Men’s Football Final’s – Brazil Vs Mexico 1-2 – Mexico Seals Olympic Gold Medal

Mexico overcame all odds and claimed the gold medal in the London 2012 Olympics after defeating Brazil with final scoreboard of 2-1.

The match kicked off as fast as ever with Mexico rolling the ball back to their goalkeeper due to the Brazilians putting pressure upfront and Corona cleared it over the midfield and into Rafael Da Silva who tried to pass it over to Sandro but he lost the ball to Marco Fabian and he slipped it to his partner in crime Peralta with just enough time to slam a low driven shot past Brazil’s Gabriel.

The Brazilians were struggling against the back line installed by Mexico, they tried playing fancy with back heels and traditional style of play but it was not making any effect against Luis Fernando’s defenders. Neymar was fairly anonymous throughout the 1rst half and not being able to do much at this point.

2nd half arrived with Brazil giving it their all from the opening minute as Hulk combined well upfront with Neymar taking shots into the penalty area of Mexico but just managing to hit the crossbar or Corona getting the ball into his hands.

Things got worse for the Brazilians at the 74th minute when a corner was awarded to Mexico and Peralta rose above everyone else and headed it into the back of the net. Hulk managed to salvage 1 goal for Brazil in injury time but it wasn’t enough for them to get the triumph as Mexico surprised the world and earned them the gold medal.
