After what would probably be the longest transfer saga of these past couple of seasons it finally looks like Robin Van Persie is set to make his move away from Arsenal and his destination is Manchester United.
The Dutch forward was also wanted by Manchester City and Juventus in this transfer window but it was Manchester United who arrived faster and now they have acquired the services of last season’s top goal scorer with a transfer fee believed of £24 million.
A statement on Arsenal’s official website read: “Arsenal Football Club can confirm that terms have been agreed for the transfer of Robin van Persie to Manchester United.
“Van Persie will travel to Manchester on Thursday in order to agree personal terms and complete a medical ahead of the proposed move.”
“Manchester United is pleased to announce it has reached agreement with Arsenal Football Club for the transfer of Robin van Persie,” the Old Trafford side declared on their official website.
Van Persie will be joining Wayne Rooney as their 2 main strikers upfront while Kagawa is expected to play behind them as a deep lying play maker. Down the wings Manchester United will be with Luis Nani and Antonio Valencia. This upcoming season will be one to watch as the top Premier League clubs are making big signings.
