Germany Vs Argentina 1-3 – International Friendly Match – Argentina Demolish Germans In Their Home Soil

With all the European Leagues just a few days away from starting Argentina traveled to the Commerzbank-Arena and faced off with Germany in a match that saw Ron-Robert Zieler get a red card and Lionel Messi not being able to score a penalty.

Marco Reus was the 1rst to fire some warning shots over to Argentina’s goalkeeper as he ran past a number of defenders but his effort just not managing to get into the net, Germany continued their search for the opening goal this time with Miroslav Klose bursting down the left wing and cutting the ball to Mesut Ozil and the Real Madrid player tried his luck with a close range shot but it was later blocked by Sergio Romero.

Argentina had some moments of their own with some attacking plays at the own half of Germany but they struggled on creating any real danger at this point. Messi just not working his magic that everybody is used to seeing in Barcelona.

The match quickly changed for the worse when Zieler received a red card after he had brought down Sosa in his own half. A penalty was awarded to Argentina which was taken by Lionel Messi but his shot was easily saved by the substitute goalkeeper Andre ter Stegen. Just before the 1rst half was reaching its ending point, Khedira gave Argentina the advantage when the midfielder deflected the ball into his own net from a resulting corner.

Despite not being at his best Messi still managed to find the back of the net at the 52^nd minute when Higuain attracted the attention of some defenders and later slipped the ball back to the Barcelona superstar who smacked it past Ter Stegen.

Angel Di Maria has been in fine form and this was evidenced in his previous matches with Real Madrid. He scored a fantastic volley against Ac.Milan just some weeks ago and now scored from 30 yards away as he picked up a loose ball in midfield and did not hesitate in firing an unstoppable shot into the net of Germany.  Howedes scored the last goal of the match as Argentina overcame the Germans in this friendly.
