Real Madrid Vs Valencia 1-1- La Liga BBVA Highlights And Result – The Champions Not Impressing At Bernabeu

The Spanish champions Real Madrid did not exactly make the start they wished for in this season. They were held against a tough and resilient Valencia side which kept them at only 1 goal despite having all the superstars they have in their squad.

Gonzalo Higuain was included ahead of Benzema and the Argentine did not waste in demonstrating why he was chosen to be in the starting XI of Mourinho. At the 9th minute Angel Di Maria chipped the ball over to the legs of Higuain who initially tried to slip it at the side of Diego Alves but the goalkeeper deflected it which allowed Higuain a 2nd chance to score but his other effort was also deflected until the Argentine would smack it beyond the reach of the goalkeeper.

Valencia would level the game 32 minutes later when Tino Costa launched a free kick over to the box of Real Madrid and Iker Casillas collided with Pepe who was later replaced. Jonas of Valencia did manage however to head it into the empty net, turning the match 1-1.

2nd half came by with both sides struggling to create any real chances on goal, C.Ronaldo was mostly absent throughout the remainder of the minutes. Mourinho tried to add more attack in his department with Diarra being replaced by Benzema but it did not change anything as the game remained with both clubs only managing to score once and earning 1 point each at this start of this season.
